 Barbara Jean (Wellman) Rosenbury

Barbara Jean Rosenbury, age 59, of Burlington, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, in her home. Barb was born January 23, 1947, in Fort Madison, Iowa. She was the daughter of Herman and Marjorie (Huffman) Wellman. She was a 1965 graduate of Burlington Notre Dame High School and was a member of SS. John and Paul Catholic Church.

On November 12, 1966, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Richard Lee Rosenbury, in St. John Catholic Church in Burlington. Together they shared almost 40 years of marriage.

Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting and experiencing our Mom never forgot her. She was one of the most memorable people you could know. Barb enjoyed watching the leaves change in the fall on afternoon drives through Nauvoo, driving the golf cart on the course with Dad, and loved the thrill of being on roller coasters. Her utmost favorite past time was playing B–One, and attending the surrounding casinos, especially Tama.

She was 110% loyal and dedicated to her family and friends, as well as her job at UPS, where she was employed for 27 years.

She filled the hearts of many people that traveled her path and made life a little crazier for some. The personality, attitude and bull–headedness will live on in each of her children, as well as many of the people's lives she had touched.

In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by:

Her Parents: Herman and Marjorie Wellman of Burlington.

Her Three Children: Cristina Jean "Skee" Brodersen and her husband Mac of Fort Madison, Rochelle Lynn "Roach" Waterhouse and her husband Jeff of Burlington, and Bradley Richard "Stink" Rosenbury and his fiancée Kari Cochran of Burlington.

Five Grandchildren: Kayla "Cacket," Kevin "E" and Marissa "Shu" Brodersen of Fort Madison, and Courtney "Woogie" and Kameron "Budun" Waterhouse of Burlington.

A Brother: Gerald Wellman of Los Angeles, California.

Four Sisters: Patricia Wilson of Phoenix, Arizona, Deborah Brown and Laura Bryant of Burlington, and Doreen Pope of West Burlington.

Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. today in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

The mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 3rd, at 10 a.m., in St. Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Luke Stannagel will be the celebrant and Rev. Anthony Trosley the concelebrant.

Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

A memorial will be established in Barb's name.
