der deutschen Familien Gegenheimer, die nach Amerika emigriert
sind. Der Grund dafür ist, daß wir die Ahnentafel unserer
Familie ergänzen können. Folgend sind die Beschreibungen
der vier Gegenheimer Familien, die nach Amerika ausgewandert sind.
1. Johann Jakob Gegenheimer ist am 18 Mai
1804 im Dorf Freckenfeld, westlich von Kandel in der Rhein-Pfalz,
geboren. Seine Eltern waren Johann Georg Gegenheimer und Margaretha
Hartman. Am 11. Maerz 1827 hat er Maria Anne DePrez in Kandel
geheiratet. Sie war am 27. Februar 1808 geboren und ihre Eltern
waren Daniel und Maria Bossart DePrez. Das junge Ehepaar ist per
Schiff am 17. April 1833 von LeHavre nach Amerika losgefahren.
2. Ungefaehr 1859 ist eine Frau, namens
Mere Gegenheimer (58 Jahre alt) nach Amerika mit 3 Söhnen
ausgewandert. Die Söhne waren: Philip, 21 J.; Karl, 18 J.;
und August, 16 J. August ist am 11. November 1842 in Baden-Baden
geboren. Alle sind Bauern gewesen und sie haben sich erstens in
Ohio, danach in Indiana, niedergelassen. Die Zwei älteren
Brüder haben sich vermutlich in Iowa und New Orleans, Louisiana
niedergelassen.
3. Charles Karl Gegenheimer (1816-1900)
ist mit seiner Ehefrau, Susan Hahn (1818-1903), nach Amerika ausgewandert
und hat sich in Iowa niedergelassen. Datum ungewiß.
4. Philip Gegenheimer ist ungefähr
März 1822 in Baden geboren. Seine Frau, Katerina Steinlacher,
ist im Baden ungefähr Februar 1828 geboren. Nachdem sie ausgewandert
sind, haben sie sich in New Orleans, Louisiana niedergelassen.
