Lewis A. Wilson III

Lewis A. Wilson III of Buckingham Township, Pa., passed away at his residence on Thursday, June 16, 2011. He was 67 years old.

Mr. Wilson resided in Buckingham for 12 years and was a former resident of Miami, Fla. and Downingtown, Pa.

He was a Special Agent in Charge with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for 28 years, before retiring in 1999. Mr. Wilson received his Juris Doctorate Degree in Law from the Washington School of Law at American University in Washington, DC and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Dickinson College of Carlisle, Pa.

Mr. Wilson was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Vidocq Society, the International Police Association, and a Fire Police Officer with Midway Volunteer Fire Co. of Lahaska, a member of VFW Post 845 and American Legion Post 475, both of Downingtown.

Lewis was the beloved husband of 17 years to Jeanne Pulman Wilson; devoted father of Kimberley Gegenheimer and her husband Rick; loving grandfather of Alice, Amanda and Sean Gegenheimer; brother of the late Harry Wilson; and was the uncle of Bryan Wilson and Maris Wilson.

Friends are invited to call at Lahaska United Methodist Church, Route 263 and Street Road, Lahaska on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the memorial service being held at 11 a.m. Midway Volunteer Fire Co. will begin a service prior to 10 a.m.

Interment of cremains will follow in Doylestown Cemetery, Doylestown.
