The marriage of Miss Christina Maria Schiro of Gretna and
Mr. Douglas Marc Gegenheimer of
Covington was solemnized April 8 at Taravella Manor. Judge Marion
Edwards officiated at the ceremony, which was followed by a reception.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Schiro. The bridegroom
is the son and stepson of Mr. and Mrs. Tim
Gegenheimer and the son of the late
Mrs. Nancy Ernst Gegenheimer.
The bride, whose mother is the former Miss Rosa Mancuso of Ustica,
Italy, was graduated from the Academy of the Holy Angels and Our Lady of
Holy Cross College, where she received a bachelor of science degree in
elementary education and was a member of Kappa Delta Pi honor society
for education. She is employed as a second grade teacher in Marrero.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gaetano Mancuso of Ustica
and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Schiro of New Paltz, N.Y.
Mr. Gegenheimer was graduated from Brother Martin High School and the
University of New Orleans, where he received a bachelor of science
degree in electrical engineering and was a member of the Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He is employed as an engineer for
Blue Ribbon Industrial Components in Orlando, Fla.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Ernst and the late Mr. and
Mrs. Roland Gegenheimer.
The couple will reside in Gretna following a wedding trip to Italy.
